The limy cliffs along the whole border of the Peniche peninsula have a continuous story, of over 20 million years since the geological evolution of the inferior Jurassic of Portugal. A history printed on the rocks that date back to the early Jurassic times (circa 200 million years ago) and to the most recent "life" of the Blue Planet, when dinosaurs already populated the continental zones and the Iberian peninsula was very close to the northern portion of the American continent. Thus, it is the perfect place to narrow the connection between theoretical and practical Geology even more.

The variability of the calcareous rocks succession and the upwelling conditions provide a great spot for camping activities in the areas of Estratigraphy, Palaeontology, Sedimentology, Sedimentary Basins Analysis, Geomorphology, Geological Patrimony and Environmental Geology.
