Peniche is one of the best places in Europe to study the migration of seabirds between the North Atlantic and the South Atlantic. Many birds pass between the archipelago of the Berlenga island and Cape Carvoeiro. They can be observed with binoculars and ground-based telescopes.

The Peniche Seabird Count will be on display in the Moche Rip Curl Pro Portugal, on 23rd of October, together with SPEA - Life Berlengas Project. This day will be dedicated to seabirds, various activities will be open for participation and register to observe these birds in Peniche.
