Town Hall building
Neste edifício encontra-se instalada a Câmara Municipal de Peniche desde 1609, data da elevação de Peniche a vila.
Este imóvel sofreu várias ampliações nos séc. XVIII e XIX, nele sendo instaladas diversas valências municipais.
No 1º andar, situavam-se a Sala de Audiências e a Sala de Sessões (Sala dos Vereadores). Nesta ainda se veem as Armas Reais no teto datado de 1769.
O rés do chão teve diversas utilizações ao longo do tempo: cavalariças, serviço de aferição de pesos, cadeia municipal e primeiro quartel de bombeiros de Peniche.
City council of Peniche has been located in this building since 1609 when Peniche became a town.This building underwent various expansions in the 18th and 19th centuries when different city facilities were located here.On the first floor a Court room and a Councillors chamber were settled where we can still see on the ceiling the real weapons from 1769.The ground floor was used for different purposes over time: stables, weight testing, a city prison and the first fire station in Peniche.
